PIL filed against Sachin Tendulkar

A public interest litigation has been filed against cricketer Sachin Tendulkar contesting that his nomination to the Rajya Sabha is unconstitutional.

However, the Delhi High Court has refused to restrain cricketer Sachin Tendulkar from taking oath as Rajya Sabha member.

On Tuesday, a Supreme Court bench too had refused to entertain a petition challenging cricketer Sachin Tendulkar's nomination to the Rajya Sabha.

The SC bench felt that a remedy could lie in the high court and allowed the petitioner to withdraw the case and approach the Delhi High Court.
